En la Obscuridad de la Noche

IMG_3071

Levantate, esfuerzate, no será conveniente; te incomodará. No te entenderán.

Don’t Follow Your Heart

I know the title may sound a little controversial, but you will see why we should not follow our hearts below:

I’m sure everyone has heard of the saying “Follow your heart”, and it sounds like the right thing to do, right? After all, our hears can’t be wrong. Let’s see what the Bible says about this. Jeremiah 17:9 says “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked…” Genesis 8:21 says “…For the imagination of man’s hear is evil from his youth…”

It’s true! The Bible tells us over and over that our hearts are wicked, and we shouldn’t follow it. The moment we start to follow our heart is when we are led to only a path of destruction. It’s when we deny our wicked, evil ways and leave it all to God that we truly do the right thing. It’s in our nature to sin because we’re human and we’re not perfect. But since God is perfect, He can guide us in making our desicions. Proverbs 28:26 says “He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”

God tells us that we should follow what He asks of us, and not what our hearts tell us. Numbers 15:39- “Remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes…” It’s easy to do what we feel in our hearts. It’s pleasing to us to do what we want to do, and hard to do what God asks of us, but God tells us to give all of that up. Joshua 24:23- Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the Lord God of Israel.” What exactly are “strange gods”? It can be anything we seek that isn’t right. Anything our hearts desire that isn’t right in God’s eye.

If we truly repent in our hearts of our evil ways, God will forgive us. His mercy is so great that as long as we repent, he does not reject us. Psalm 51:17- “…a broken and contrite heart, o God, thou wilt not despise.” After we repent, we should ask God to give us a clean, new heart. Psalm 51:10- “Create in me a clean heart, oh God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

Ask God to guide you in everything that you do. Then ask Him to take complete control over our thoughts, words, and actions. After that, trust in Him! Psalm 62:8- “Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us…”

Why Do You Seek The Living Among the Dead?

“But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. 5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?” Luke 24:1-5

This passage takes place after Jesus has died and has been placed in the tomb as was customary. Two days later, those who followed him came looking for him in the tomb. They noticed the stone that covered the entrance was rolled away. As they went inside, two men in bright garments asked them a powerful question, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”
In Mark 5, we are told of how a possessed man dwelled in the tombs and not in his house. This shows us that when we give in to sin, it will surround us by death. Nothing in your life will prosper, your ministry will not flourish, your desires for God will fade off, etc. Jesus said he is “LIFE,” this means that sin takes you farther and farther away from Him, from Life, thus forcing you dwell in spiritual tombs and in valleys of death.
Here is the exciting thing!!! See, the enemy calls your sin and/or your past with the purpose to guilt you, to enslave you to it. However, when Jesus calls out your sin or past, it’s to set you free from it! That’s why in John 4, the Samaritan women was not embarrased when he called out her sinful lifestyle, instead, she got up and pulicly testified about what Jesus had done to her! He had set her FREE!
Now, there will be times when the past and the old sins will come looking for you after you have been set free. The thing is, that it will come looking for you where it was used to seeing you, amongs the tombs, amongs death, but because of the greatness of God, when the past comes looking around, be assured that there will be 2 men with bright garments standing there asking that sin and past, “Why do you seek the living (YOU) among the dead?!!!!”
When you give yourself to God, when you choose to surrender your life, your heart, and your will to Him, He will set you free and give you life! You will no longer dwell amongs the tombs! He is the way, the truth and the LIFE!

It Is Written

untitledMatthew 4:1-10-  Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.  And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”[a] Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you,[d] Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”

Before the ministry of Jesus began, the devil was there to get him out of the will of God. The only thing Jesus was able to grab a hold on to was the Word of God. When the enemy comes at you, lets take the Son of God’s example, the written Word of the Father was the only way He was going to be able to defeat the devil. Get into the word study yourself approved, so when the enemy comes you’ll be able to say, “It is written…” Before your miracle breakthrough, the enemy will try to get you out of the will of God but we have a promise in the word: Greater is He that is in us than he that is out there in the world. If God is for us who could be against us? Our promises have already been written. Stand on God’s word and tell the devil, “It is written.”

Words, Powerful Words

Image“For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11:23

Jesus tells us that we believe and speak affects the natural world, including our finances. God has given us his Word so that we can understand theses spiritual laws that govern the universe.  There are spiritual laws just as there are natural laws.  When you work with these laws, they work for you.  When you work against God’s spiritual laws, they work against you.  When you speak negativity about your financial situations, you have what you say and believe.  Here is a very important spiritual law: YOU CAN HAVE WHAT YOU SAY:  With your words you can choose life or death, poverty or riches, sickness or health.  You may tithe (give 10% to the church), work hard and pray for prosperity every day, but if your words are negative and contrary to God’s word, you could stay mired in debt, struggling to make ends meet.  Words are powerful but God’s word is full of creative power.  When you agree with what God has said about you and SPEAK HIS WORD, your circumstances will begin to change and line up with his will for your life.

Ready for the Master

Image

2 Timothy 2 : 20-21

20 In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. 21 If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.

God has many talented and gifted people he has called. Some people wonder why the Lord does not use them more. Maybe to lead a service or a special event at their church. This all relies on us. How pure do we maintain ourselves. How do we live our Christian life with Christ? “Many are chosen but few are called. Matthew 22:14” Just as Utensils we must be clean and pure. The Utensils being a tool to deliver the Food in this case The Word of God. As a dirty spoon or fork if we use it we might contaminate the Food. God does not want us to contaminate His Word. He is pure and so is His Word. We must keep ourselves clean and pure for his use at all times. For if we are not…the Lord will simply just choose another utensil that is ready to be used.
