Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:5-7
Prayer which may include all sorts of ways: mental, vocal, private, public, ordinary, or extraordinary. Prayer may design petition, or asking for good things that are wanted; and “supplication” however is a plead for help of evils that are feared. These two are often used together for the same thing, for prayer in general: which should always to be together with thanksgiving. Thankful for mercies we received. In 1Timothy 2:1 it says “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people”… We should make known to God the petitions of or hearts without fear but first be thankful for His mercy, love, and for His Blessing.
