NLT 39 “All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised.”
So many of us have heard of Abraham, Moses, Joseph and many others who had great faith. These people walked in total faith with the Lord. They were given a vision and used faith to fuel their vision. Just as Hebrews 11 opens up with “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1. These men had great faith in what they could not see and had complete faith in what the Lord’s plan and vision was for them. But even then, with all of the amazing actions and faith they had in the Lord, God was still not done with them. God still had more great, amazing, and wonderful plans for their lives. As the scripture says “ yet none of them received all that God had promised.” Imagine what we could accomplish with having faith in the Lord? Faith is a powerful tool. If we place our faith in the Lord, His plans for us are Unlimited! (Ps. 119:96 Even perfection has its limits, but your commands have no limit.) There is no end to the things we can do with a vision from the Lord and by placing our Faith in Him!
Psalm 130 1 Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord! 2 O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy! 3 If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. 5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; 6 my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. 7 O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. 8 And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
Reflection: No matter how deep you fall, God is never far. Shout to the Lord! For He is there ready to answer your call and rescue you. God has saved us by his great Love and Mercy, not by our works so that no one can boast about it (Ef 2:8-9). We all fall short of the glory of God, allow his redeeming love to sustain you. He has forgiven us long ago, praise the Lord! Wait for the Lord. He is your hope, salvation, and the light that will lead you to everlasting Glory (Heaven). Thank God daily for this awesome gift!
“Trust in The Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” PROVERBS 3:5-6
Supernatural guidance is another benefit that you can expect as you “lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. It is so important to listen to the Lord. Sometimes God will tell you to do something that isn’t what you would have chosen if you had figured things out on your own. God does this because he’s smarter than us. He knows the end from the beginning. (Isaiah 46:10) He knows far more than you and can give you divine insight into any situation. If you lean on your own understanding, you’ll be in trouble. You don’t know enough to avoid failure. But, when you “in all your ways know, recognize and acknowledge him,” God rises up within you with his wisdom and gives you the direction to victory. So starting today, ACKNOWLEDGE GOD! Tell him, “I’m going to listen to you today, Heavenly Father. I expect to hear from you. I don’t know the answer to what faces me today, but I belong to you, and YOU know the answer. I’m leaning on you Heavenly Father. I acknowledge you in all my ways TODAY in Jesus Name!” As you acknowledge God in all your ways, God WILL do what he has promised to do: “He will direct your path.”
